Frequently Asked Questions
Fish flags have been around for more than 50 years in many parts of the world. They began as a way for charter captains and tournament fisherman to signal their catches to surrounding boats and to marinas upon arrival. They’ve changed little since. Very little. Until now, there was the same exact flags available today that were available in the 1960’s–large offshore pelagic species.
We believe that you shouldn’t need a half million dollar boat or to spend $1000 on fuel to fly a flag to show off your catch. We’re perfectly proud of the snook we caught in the canal behind our house, and we want to fly our colors to show it. Now you can too!
There are many ways to fly flags from a boat, car, or whatever vessel you happen to be fishing from. We recommending acquiring (or making) a rod holder flag pole. All of our flags come with grommets, so zip tying them to a PVC pipe with holes drilled in it will do the trick. However, there are several options available for somebody looking for a more elegant solution.

No, but we wish you would consider it! Traditionally, there were 2 ways to fly flags–upside down to indicate a successful release or right side up to indicate a capture. However, they have increasingly become synonymous with catch and release fishing. We all like to eat fish sometimes though!
